What sort of person volunteers with the Scouts?

It doesn’t matter if you are a big kid at heart, like to work with a large group or small, in the limelight or behind the scenes, you will be welcome here in Ashby & Coalville and you’ll find someone like you is already working with us.

#GoodForYou  -  At Scouts, there's a space for everyone – and volunteering is good for your wellbeing

Do I need any special skills?

It’s ok not to be able to tie knots or to build a shelter from nothing, we can show you all that! Volunteers with us tend to be enthusiastic, kind, and team players.  Some like to work with young people and other help to train adults, take care of our buildings and campsite or raise funds and provide support.

#GoodForYou  -  Build your skills. Boost your happiness.  Connect with your local community.

I’m interested but what next?

Use the form on this page to get in touch and one of the team will arrange to chat with you to match your interest with our opportunities – there is no obligation and we’d encourage you to try a role before jumping in with both feet!

vol03

#GoodForYou  -  Volunteering goes both ways.  It's good for them, and its good for you.

'Scouts has really grown my confidence as a parent, which is something I didn't expect.'

Make a difference, volunteer today

We’re talking tidy uppers and tea makers, session planners and fire builders, fundraisers and treasurers, and all round team players to support our young people.

The good news is you shape what you do and the time you have to give. Scouts happens when a lot of us give a little (and no, you don’t have to be a Scout or outdoors expert to volunteer).
